VIRTERA Announces O'Reilly Book Authors

VIRTERA Consultants Selected by O'Reilly Media to Author the Industry Leading Technical Book on VMware Hypervisor

NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 10/01/09 -- VIRTERA, a leading virtualization professional services and consulting firm, announced today that two of its employees have been chosen by O'Reilly Media to write a book titled "Designing and Managing VMware in the Enterprise."

Sidney Smith, Principal Consultant, and Michael Burke, Practice Director, have contracted with O'Reilly to write a guide that is intended as O'Reilly's flagship VMware ESX book, competing directly with the most popular VMware ESX titles on the market. The book will go beyond the basics of configuring VMware ESX to explore also how the environment and related components at the enterprise site should be designed. Whereas other books familiarize you with the interface and suffice for a test installation, "Designing and Managing VMware in the Enterprise" will prepare its readers for mission-critical deployments.

"As the leading independent virtualization consulting company in the country, VIRTERA is very proud that two of our most distinguished Senior Consultants are writing this definitive book around the design and management of mission critical deployments of VMware in the Enterprise environment," said John Premus, Chief Strategy Officer of VIRTERA. "VIRTERA's strengths and core value proposition is to bring a strong independent and consultative approach to the marketplace. Our knowledge and experience working in heterogeneous hybrid complex environments allows our clients to build solutions that are open, flexible, and positively impact their bottom line with significant ROI. We are pleased to be a part of this project as it further validates the tremendous knowledge-base and ongoing commitment by VIRTERA to be the thought leaders in all areas of virtualization for the foreseeable future."
